Energy Audit
Saving electricity is becoming a national priority. Getting to grips with exactly how much power you are using at home and what your appliances consume is, however, a different matter. That's why we have devised the Eskom "on-line residential energy auditor", an easy to use tool that helps you work out how much electricity you are using and what you are paying.
The handy hints and savings tip included will also help you plan your savings strategy. Taking the 20 minutes or so to complete the required information will be a good investment-an exercise that will not only help you save electricity and money, but also contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and protecting our environment.
Please be aware that the tariff used in the "tool" is the rate (55 cents/kWh) Eskom charges homeowners it supplies. If you receive your electricity through a municipality the rate could be different. Consult your electricity bill for your base rate and then insert it in the appropriate space on the "tool."
